Our team

Tomas has been working in advocacy since 1999 and has been a member of the Czech Bar Association since 2003. He gained more than twenty years of experience in the field of intellectual property and its related fields while working for a leading Czech law firm, where he also led a team that focused on intellectual property. This team was subsequently awarded the title of Law Firm of the Year in the field of intellectual property three times. He received the Lawyer of the Year award in the field of intellectual property in 2016.

He has concurrently been working in the academic sphere since 2006 as an assistant professor at the Centre for Intellectual Property Law at the Charles University Faculty of Law (former Institute of Copyright, Industrial and Competition Law which he headed in 2016-2020). He completed an intensive study sojourn at the Institute of Information Law at the University of Amsterdam. He is also an arbitrator at the Arbitration Court for the Chamber of Commerce in the Czech Republic and for the Chamber of Agriculture in the Czech Republic. He has been providing the services of a mediator in the field of collective copyright and related rights as an intermediary pursuant to Section 101 et seq. of the copyright law, based on his appointment by the Ministry of Culture, since 2007.

Tomas Dobrichovsky has also long been engaged in extensive lecturing and publishing activities, primarily in the field of intellectual property and labor law. He is the author or co-author of a number of expert publications, most recently, for example, the co-author of a current, major commentary on copyright law in a collective work under the auspices of Ms. JUDr. I. Holcova (HOLCOVA, I. et al. Copyright Law and Related Regulations, Including International Treaties and European Regulations) Commentary.
